Temporary RECO PP passenger lift replaces burnt-out Randstad Rail passenger lift
A Randstad Rail passenger lift was recently set on fire in the Seghwaert station in Zoetermeer. Due to the damage sustained, the lift could no longer be used and is currently out of service. To make up for the loss of lift capacity, RECO Lift Solutions installed a temporary RECO PP passenger lift for travellers and shoppers.
Temporary passenger lift with embedded position
The threshold height of the RECO PP passenger lift is 370 mm. In order to create access to the lift at ground floor level without a threshold, the PP lift was installed in an embedded position. At platform level, Reco removed part of the existing railings to provide barrier-free access to the RECO lift from the platform.
Quick installation
Thanks to the RECO lift shaft’s compact size (only 7.25 m2), no street furniture had to be removed at the installation site. Shores that can be adjusted in length were used to easily secure the shaft to the concrete construction parts of the station building.
Maintained accessibility
Repair works are set to start on the existing lift. Until these works are finished, travellers can use the temporary RECO PP passenger lift, ensuring safe and guaranteed access to the station.
