Demolition of connecting tunnel
Part of the building project is the demolition of the connecting tunnel between the suspension line (monorail) station and the Deutsche Bahn’s central railway station in Wuppertal. During construction work the tunnel will be replaced by a temporary bridge supplied by ThyssenKrupp Bauservice from Wuppertal. Tiefbau Amt Wuppertal and the contractor, Fa. Echterhoff from Westerkappeln, have commissioned RECO Lift Solutions to create barrier-free access to the bridge by installing a temporary RECO PP passenger lift.
Ground floor entrance
The RECO passenger lift has been installed on a sunken concrete foundation, which provides perfect floor level access on the ground floor. It took only one hour to install the lift shaft and anchor it to the concrete using Hilti anchor bolts so that it stands fully independently.
100% Barrier-free and safe
The temporary RECO lift is being used intensively, not only by senior citizens and the disabled, but also by parents with prams and passengers with luggage. During the winter weather the RECO lift has proven to be a safe alternative to the stairs. Thanks to the RECO lift, passenger comfort is optimally ensured for the duration of the construction work.
